Dr. Sally Lindgren, Coordinator of Technology & Innovation

Tricia is our new Media Integration Specialist replacing Kristin Steingreaber, who retired after many years of service to Great Prairie AEA this past spring.  Tricia has a strong background in both library science and technology integration. Tricia comes to GPAEA from Southeast Polk School district near Des Moines where she served as a Media Specialist. However, Tricia is not a newcomer to our area as she started her library career in the Fairfield CSD where she continues to reside.  Tricia received her library certification from the University of Iowa and has presented several times at the Iowa Technology Education Connection (ITEC) conference on technology and the use of technology in the classroom.

Tricia’s strength is collaboration and is reflected in her goal to collaborate with our AEA teams and school districts’ learning-communities to achieve student success. She is eager to jump in and begin working with area teacher librarians, teachers and students, along with GPAEA staff to promote the integration of instructional resources that are available to area educators served through the AEA Media Center.

Tricia will also be a member of the GPAEA instructional technology team supporting schools in the use of all types of instructional resources. In Tricia’s words: “I love to collaborate and work with people. I love getting the right resource or tool to the teacher and I especially love seeing the smiling faces of the students as they become engaged and excited to learn!”

Tricia can be reached at:  tricia.slechta@gpaea.org or by calling 641-682-8591 ext. 5265
